Before She Could Spell It
Some people discover their calling after years of searching. Dr Zakiyyah Chand knew hers at the age of four. Long before she set foot in a dental school, she had already made up her mind. What followed was years of dedication, study and a deep respect for the responsibility that comes with caring for people's health.

Dr Chand completed her Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BChD) at the University of the Western Cape and later earned her Postgraduate Diploma in Aesthetic Dentistry (PgDipDent) from the University of Pretoria. This combination of surgical training and specialist aesthetic education now shapes her facial aesthetics practice, bringing precision and a medically informed approach to every PRX-Plus and Amiko Tulip treatment.
Her practice is built on a straightforward belief: that every patient, regardless of age or background, deserves to feel safe, respected and properly cared for. Following a move into full-time medical practice, Dr Chand no longer sees clinical dental patients. She continues to offer facial aesthetic treatments on weekends, by appointment, bringing the same patience and precision to every consultation.
Dr Chand remains committed to staying at the forefront of her field. Her postgraduate aesthetic training reflects an understanding that skin health and overall wellbeing are closely connected, and that looking and feeling one's best is about more than any single treatment.
Outside the consulting room, Dr Chand is a mother of three, a reader, a painter and an enthusiastic traveller. She finds that exploring the world, whether through a novel, a canvas or a new destination, keeps her perspective fresh and her empathy sharp. Those qualities, she believes, are just as important to good dental care as any clinical skill.
